Introducing a new limited edition release from The Zero Fret - the Vintage Big Box Rat Clone!

Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, this limited edition pedal is the perfect blend of vintage and modern components. I’ve sourced the same Bud Industries enclosures and tin can versions of the LM308 op amps found in the most sought-after vintage models to ensure an authentic sound.

But I’ve gone one step further and refined the circuit to give this pedal a unique twist. By adjusting the circuit, I've created a fatter, low-end focused tone with less fizzy top end. And to achieve that classic vintage tone, I've incorporated tantalum capacitors in the signal path - just like the rarest original models. I’ve also corrected the filter control so that you turn it left for lows and right for highs.

The Vintage Big Box Rat Clone comes with a toggle switch that offers three different clipping diode options. Choose from asymmetrical germanium for a compressed, fuzzy sound with plenty of volume. The middle setting lifts the diodes out of the circuit for a full-on, grinding op amp distortion that is extremely loud. And the asymmetrical silicon clipping option delivers the classic Rat sound with even more volume.

But that's not all - I've given this pedal a unique look too. The bottom half of the enclosure is painted with silver hammertone paint for a textured effect, while the top half is splattered with my trademark style paint job. I’ve finished it off with original-style Rat control knobs.

As with all The Zero Fret pedals, the Vintage Big Box ProCo Rat Clone is handmade with care and attention to detail. I personally oversee every stage of production to ensure the highest level of quality. This pedal is a must-have for any doom metal, stoner or sludge musician looking for that perfect vintage distortion tone.
